Status page enhancement: verification and summary that the server instance is following best practices

David T 5 years ago updated by Sean White 5 years ago 1

Under Admin | Status you should add a new section.

That section would check and report how the current instance complies with the ConnectWise Security Guide:

https://docs.connectwise.com/ConnectWise_Control_Documentation/Get_started/Security_guide

EG.

http daemon supported SSL cipher suite v1.2 - PASS

http daemon not configured to use SSL cipher suite v1.0 - PASS

MaxInvalidPasswordAttempts < 20 - PASS

MinRequiredPasswordLength > 8 - PASS

etc.

Add ability to share only a selected application during a meeting on OSX

darbot 5 years ago updated by Caitlin M Barnes (Product Manager) 5 years ago 2

Would be nice to have the same functionality that is available on windows meetings to share only a specific application running on the machine in OSX.

    ScreenConnectClientNetworkDeployer.exe force IP

Tom Bolick 5 years ago 0

I really like the ScreenConnectClientNetworkDeployer.exe, but it does not allow me to use different subnets, or specify the range of IPs to use that aren't listed.  We have multiple subnets, and they are not all included, especially the ones over VPN.

Add "update guest info" link to the general tab

David T 5 years ago updated by Caitlin M Barnes (Product Manager) 5 years ago 2

Since there's now an extra tab wish the manual "update guest info" link was on both the Start (currently is) and General tab (checking for idle time etc). Constantly having to switch back and forth between tabs :(

    Meeting Sharing Request Icon

JTT 5 years ago updated 5 years ago 0

When requesting a guest in a meeting to share their screen, the icon is a chat bubble which is very confusing. Can you change that icon to reflect a sharing request? The common icon I see is a square with an arrow pointing into it. The hover text makes it clear but visually it is extremely confusing.

Warranty Master - Add Licensed Operating System and Downgrade Options

JustLikeThat 5 years ago updated by Caitlin M Barnes (Product Manager) 5 years ago 2

    Hello,

We have been doing allot of Windows 7 / 8 Upgrades for many companies and the time it takes to find what OS is actually licensed on each computer can be tedious.  Warranty Master is great though I still have to go check each serial number to find out if it is already licensed for Windows 10 and had the downgrade option.

I essentially go out to the same website where I check the serial number and warranty options for Lenovo, Dell or what have you.  I think it would be a great feature if Warranty Master could provide this information.

If this could be pushed out sooner than later, it could be very useful as many companies are rushing to get Windows 10 Deployed before the end of 2019.

    Thank you,

Persistent Multi-select of clients in access mode

JasGot 5 years ago updated by Caitlin M Barnes (Product Manager) 5 years ago 1

This morning I found I needed to run a command on several clients in access mode (I need to do this every few weeks.).  My clients are filtered into groups like so:

    Company1

           DepartmentA

           DepartmentB

           DepartmentETC......

    Company2

           DepartmentA

           DepartmentB

           DepartmentETC......

I needed to make changes to clients in several departments.  I selected the Company heading so I could see all the clients, without being filtered into departments.

The list long, so I used the the search at the top of the list to narrow my search in order to quickly locate the next client to select. After selecting each client ( locating them via the search ) I found that only the last client was selected. In fact every time I changed my view, the selections would go away.

I would to be able to have selection persist through new searches using the search filter at the top.

I have confirmed this is not an issue with the way I filter my clients in to groups, because it behaves the same when I am seeing all clients across all customers.

In case it is my filter, here it is for you to see:

CustomProperty1, IIF (CustomProperty2 <> '', CustomProperty2 + ' ' + IIF(GuestOperatingSystemName LIKE '*Server*', '!Servers', IIF (GuestOperatingSystemName LIKE '*Windows*', 'PCs', 'Other')), IIF(GuestOperatingSystemName LIKE '*Server*', '!Servers', IIF (GuestOperatingSystemName LIKE '*Windows*', 'PCs', 'Other')))

    Disabling Support Invitation Code Box

Mike Colt 5 years ago 0

Hi, when a technician creates a Support session, a 6 digit code is automatically generated. What some technicians are then doing is editing the code down to only 2 or 3 digits. What we would like, is the ability to prevent the auto generated codes from being editable. I'm aware that you can remove the EditSession permission, but then users would not be able to change the name of the session, which our support staff make use of. Would it be possible to remove the ability to edit the support invitation code box but still be able to change the name of the session in a future release. Thanks.
