I saw just the other day that they had enabled the Desktop Notifications in the latest update in the extension store. This will only work if you have SSL setup on your server, but it was too late for me to take advantage of this as I stopped using Control for messaging. Moved on to Syncro MSP for all messaging and ticket handling.
