I'm not necessarily against this idea but just in case people don't know, you can use the CTRL+ALT+HOME keyboard shortcut to send CTRL+ALT+DEL to a remote system. (And even if the toolbar option gets added I'll continue to use the keyboard shortcut as I find it faster.)

If this functionality is added I would think it should be trivial to add a button to the toolbar to share the Host's printers on demand, which is what I'd prefer. (I'd rather not be prompted every time I connect but simply be able to share them on demand when needed.)

I don't fully understand why this request was declined when "Client customization options for Mac (app.config)" is marked as "CONSIDERING FOR FUTURE RELEASE"...

Is it because they are being considered duplicate requests? If so, instead of declining one, could we please have them marked as dups so the +1s get properly accumulated?

If they are not considered dups then could we get some feedback on why one is declined & the other not? (Does declining this one & not the other mean that Linux clients are being declined but Mac's are being considered?)

In general it would be really nice if some kind of feedback could be provided on the reason a request is being declined so people like myself who were following this request know how to interpret the action & whether it's worth it to follow up.

I believe this is in reference to this forum post which includes a screenshot of how it might look.

If would be nice if more than simply an option to enable/disable the feature, you could control the feature on a granular basis so the following was possible:

  • Require my assistant to always enter a note before connecting
  • Allow me to connect without having the comment box pop up.
  • EXCEPT when I'm connecting to specific organizations/computers in which case I want to be required to enter a comment.

I'm thinking it might be possible to accomplish the above through the permissions system & session groups. Thoughts?

This would be nice. Just make sure the dropdown respects the user's permissions. Meaning if the user is restricted & only has the ability to interact with certain session groups, I don't want them to be able to see all the other organizations they don't usually have access to.

Since the description might be a little confusing, here's the forum thread discussing this: User access based on CustomProperty
