While connected to an XP guest I changed the date from 1/9 to 1/5 and then the connect hung. I attempted to connected again and just received a blank screen. I was able to send commands to the guest and I restarted the ScreenConnect service and then I was reconnected. While I was troubleshooting this the date updated back to the current date automatically. I then changed the date again as above and it did the same thing. I recovered by restarted the ScreenConnect service.
