Block Guest Input continues to block input even after disconnection

Currently using ConnectWise Control to maintain a computer that operates a ticket barrier system. The computer is hooked up to a QR barcode reader on the barrier. If the 'Block Guest Input' feature is used during remote maintenance, then the barcode reader stops working even after disconnection, making the barrier unusable. Currently, the only solution is to manually end the 'screenconnect' process. So it's clear ConnectWise Control is the cause.
