Very Slow Active Directory authentication (60 sec)

Dor Bujor Padureanu 11 months ago updated by Rishikesh Gajul (Product Manager) 11 months ago 1

Running latest 20.11.1622.7619 Control Version on Windows 2019 Standard Server 64Bit on VMWare.

Moved installation, according to help instructions from old server (hardware Windows 2008R2 64Bit) to new one running on a virtual machine on the same network.

We use Active Directory for authentication. Control server firewall off.

After moving, everything works ok in regards of session speed and connection but, on the first attempt to sign-in for a user, it needs 60 sec. for authenticating.

After that probably it is a cache on SC level becouse it doesn't take so long anymore, but when switching to another user it waits again for one minute before authenticating.

We cannot find a solution since even from Admin interface/ Security, when we use lookup AD user form testing interface it also waits so long.

Using a command prompt on the same machine and command "net user /domain" the responce from AD is instant.

So we suspect a problem in ScreenConnect connector to AD.

We try also LDAP and the wait time is the same.

So please instruct us what to do in order to trace the source of the problem on ScreenConnect side.
