Client mouse erratic

FAB-ITRescue 3 years ago updated by Derek Howard 1 month ago 4

Whilst in a Remote Accessl Session, the Client complains of erratic mouse control when demonstrating other issues to the Host.  Mouse movement is difficult and clicks not always registered.  This happens while Host is static with mouse & also happens when Host's mouse is off the session window.  Normal client mouse performance is restored if Host disconnects from Remote Access Session.

Does this just happen for one particular guest, or on multiple machines? I haven't been able to produce any unusual mouse behavior using a Win 7 guest.

We've been seeing spastic / erratic cursor behaviour largely when mirroring a remote session, switching from the Console to within a RDP session on a machine. Not sure if it just happens on Win10, but is super common.

We are also having this issue. Everything is fine on the console session, but when Control switches to one of the guest's RDP session, the mouse is almost unusable.

+1

Solved via editing the Guest machine's group policy to NOT use the WDDM RDP display driver for RDP sessions, instead using the XDDM driver. https://www.askwoody.com/2019/carboni-jittery-mouse-when-controlling-win10-version-1903-via-rdp-theres-a-solution/

As it might be fixed by a Windows update (which my WSUS people might have not approved yet) I'm not rolling out the Policy change to my whole organization at this time. Hopefully this information helps you!
