I come with good news!

This feature is nearly complete. We posted a preview of it in a recent blog post. Take a look and let us know your thoughts.

This would be very helpful!

This is definitely a needed feature.

+1 for interactive terminal

+1 for this feature in addition to the script-style commands tab we have now, as it is useful in other ways.

I cannot imagine, in a world where we are all system administrators of sorts and require full control of the remote host, that we would be given simulated access to the ssh shell. Maybe there is a good reason, but I'm coming from an Open Source space where full access is needed.

Hopefully, you can implement this feature with haste.

Thank you.

I definitely agree this should be heavily looked into, having a full ssh shell access to a server when ssh ports aren't open would be IMMENSELY ideal as dealing with a gui remotely can be slow and clunky.

I'm sure for Windows heads this would be ideal also for power shell commands.

Just sending commands is not enough. Simple editing a file is not possible, for instance with vi. Full console access is needed for this tool to be useful for managing machines remote.

You can send multiline commands. You just use shift enter to bring you the next line. I do it all the time.

It would be nice to be able to run programs that take a while to do and actually be able to see the status of them. Example yum update on a linux machine.

Is it possible to have this Console access also on the ScreenConnect Host application connected to a Guest?

Something like this would be really nice.

Not sure if this is possible within reason, but with Google Cloud, you click a "SSH" button next to the VM you want to manage, which opens a separate browser window (I think HTML5) which has the console.

Hopefully 100 is the deciding number to make this happen.

Yes! Let's ditch the slow/sloppy LT shell emulator and the paid LT PowerShell plugins.

Yes, this would be amazing.  Just the ability to run PowerShell directly on the Commands tab has been a godsend already, making it interactive would be even better.

Please.. I assume most of us use connectwise control for remote support. This would be really amazing and helpful to have.

Why must you toy with our emotions!

NinjaRMM already has this. Fully interactive CMD, fully interactive PS, can run either as system or as logged on user.

+1.  Let's do it Screen Connect! (sorry, I love its old name) you are the swiss-knife of all Remote Desktop Software! The
'Alexander the Great' ! Let's make the extra mile to the glory!. xD

Awesome, which version will this be in?

why does this use one of the licenses .. should  not

Hi Brian,

In order to make this feature fully interactive without interrupting the end user, we have to create an independent Windows session. You can still send basic commands to the end user through the host page or host client without using an extra license.

yes but its crazy to have to join a desktop session first then switch to the command interface ..  this has already interrupted the user by showing your computer is being controlled when i had to login to desktop .

why are there not a way tostart the command  login from the web interface .   i realize it must still connect and login to pc .

but i should be able to start this from the web interface without taking remote control of there desktop first .

otherwise this is useless .

I'm with Brian too. If we have to join a desktop session first, makes no sense at all. I'd stay on backstage with sc console command tab instead, very limited. I believe it's not what we mean for this feature. =/

They did not clarify in the announcement post that this was already in the works, but if you watch the video you will see they clearly plan to have it launchable right from the webUI and show it in their demo.
