Mac - add buttons to Mac Client for monitor selection and submitting Ctrl-Alt-Del

Fernand 8 years ago updated by anonymous 7 years ago 9

As a primary Mac user it would be great to have interface parity between the Mac client and the Windows client when remotely supporting users.

If parity is a long way off, adding some of the most commonly used functions in a simple tool bar would be a great start... the most urgent ones would be:

  1. Sent Ctrl-Alt-Del
  2. Select monitor/screen
  3. Start Chat
  4. Set display quality
  5. Start File Transfer

Hello Fernand,

Are you on the latest 6.0 stable release? Most of the functions you're asking for here are already available when hosting a session from a Mac and connecting to a Windows Machine. You may also refer to our feature differences between clients sheet here for more information.

Let me know if this helps.

Hello Kristen,

Thank you for your response. We are currently on the most recent 5.5 release as the 6.0 release still has some issues that we're awaiting resolution on. That being said, the Mac interface in 5.5 is not much different to the interface in 6.0 to my knowledge.

I think you have misunderstood my request. I would like the requested features available directly in the remote control window... like they are available in the sidebar under Windows.

I'd be happy to discuss this over the phone if that would help.

Hi Fernand,

Thank you for further explaining your request. I have updated the ticket to add the host client toolbar inside the Mac client window.

Hi Fernand,

We are currently looking to redesigning the Mac UI and have some early designs. Would you be interested in participating in an interview to give your feedback on the designs?

Most definitely! Feel free to touch base.

Hi Fernand,

Thank you, can you please send me an email at HKhan@ConnectWise.com to coordinate this.

We are hugely Mac-centric and support Macs and PCs from the Mac client frequently. Would love to provide any additional feedback if needed - a UI upgrade to the Mac host client would be MOST welcome! particularly upgrades to multi monitor support, that slows us down quite a bit.

Hey Crosby,.

Thanks for this comment, I would certainly be interested in setting up time to speak with you and showing you an early design concept. Please contact me at HKhan@ConnectWise.com so we can coordinate.
