(For a discussion of what is causing this, see http://woshub.com/how-windows-determines-that-the-file-has-been-downloaded-from-the-internet/)

If EXE is run through the More -> Run Tool menu item, the end user receives warnings about the file coming from the Internet and therefore is blocked due to Security: This file came from another computer and might be blocked to help protect this computer.

Waiting for information

Good morning,

I re-tested the scapp functionality this morning and wasn't presented with the "This file came from another computer and might be blocked to help protect this computer" message.

I included the following two files in the procexp.scapp archive:

1) batprocexp.bat - a bat file containing the following command: start procexp64.exe

2) procexp64.exe - Process Explorer executable downloaded from the internet

I ran procexp.scapp from the host page on a Windows 2k8 endpoint -- the file transferred correctly and started Process Explorer on the remote machine.

Would you mind providing some additional information in order to facilitate troubleshooting:

1) Version of ScreenConnect server

2) Version of ScreenConnect host and guest clients (these versions should match the server version)

3) Contents of your .scapp archive (including the exe you're attempting to run on the remote machine)

4) Guest operating system on which you receive the message

5) Do you get the message regardless of the guest logged on user?

Cheers,

Ben
