Wrong mouse pointer position on linux client with 3 screens

David 3 years ago updated by Ben Burner 2 years ago 8

I have 3 screens on my Fedora 24 desktop. 2 side by side with one centered above (so like a pyramid). All are 1920x1080 res. Screenconnect server is the most current version and running on a windows 7. When i remote in from a my windows machine to the Fedora desktop, i can see all 3 screens and select to view just one if i wish. but when i mouse over i find there are 2 mouse pointers. Both move in sync, but the remote pointer is always far to the left. Clicking and moving objects does work, as long as you don't need anything on the right side of the screen.

SC Version = 6.0.11622 on both Windows 7 "server" and Fedora 24 client.

Good morning and thank you for reporting this behavior. I'm happy to report that this issue was previously submitted to development for review and a fix should be included in the forthcoming 6.1 release of ScreenConnect.

Hi guys,

I'd like to also add that this is not only for Linux users but it also appears to be happening with Mac OSX users. This issue was previously reported in the Forums here http://forum.screenconnect.com/yaf_postst9893_OSX-multiple-monitor-not-working-6-0-11299-6071.aspx

I'm on the latest 6.3.13446.6374 server and client version and just notice this double mouse cursor.  Running Ubuntu Linux.

Good morning,

I just tested for this by connecting to one of our dual-monitor Ubuntu 16.04 LTS guest machines, but the behavior you describe did not replicate.

Would you mind providing some additional information about your environment and what you're seeing:

1) What version of Ubuntu is installed on the guest machine?

2) What version of Java is installed on the Ubuntu guest?

3) How many monitors are attached to the Ubuntu guest?

4) How are the "double mouse cursors" oriented in relation to one another?

Regards,

Ben

Description: Ubuntu 14.04.2 LTS

Release: 14.04
Codename: trusty

Java 7

2 monitors attached to Ubuntu guest

Both cursors are touching each other, vertical alignment shifted 2mm from each other, horizontal is fine.

Any updates?  Thanks.

Good morning,

I'm unable to reproduce the behavior you describe in the following environment:

Guest: Dual monitor, Ubuntu 16.04 with Java 8u91; 6.3.13446 client installed

When I connect to the dual-monitor Linux guest, the host is presented with an accurate representation of the guest's mouse state (i.e., no vertical offset).

At this point, it may be best to submit a support request to schedule a session so one of our technicians can review what you're seeing in your environment.

Cheers,

Ben
