Chat / messaging notification does not clear in 19.0

The blue dot to indicate a waiting chat / message notification does not clear even after the messaging window is accessed. This worked correctly up until 19.0

We added a delay to the clearing, which defaults to 10 minutes.

We'll have updates to the Advanced Configuration Editor and Edit Web.config AppSettings extensions shortly, but if you're on-prem and don't want to wait, look for AcknowledgeMessageDelaySeconds in web.config.

So does this mean that a chat message will not be acknowledged anymore by opening the chat message on the web page?

It will, it just takes however long you've set the delay to.

Doesn't this mean that there's no way to acknowledge the message other than to respond to it or just wait for the delay time to have passed?

This was three months ago and there doesn't seem to be an option in Web.config to change this yet.

Nor is there in the web.config editor extension.

When will we be able to edit this to a more useful time frame?

Approved the Advanced Configuration Editor extension today. You can find the setting under Configuration > Web Configuration > Other Settings

Thanks Eric. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the ACE to pick up the latest version but now the Configuration options are now all blank whether I click on Web Configuration > Other Settings or any of the other options. I have logged in and out - is there anything else I need to do to refresh this ?

Sorry for the delay. Did you find a resolution to this?

I also reported this. I liked the old behavior where I could click in the chat and it would clear. Oh well, progress?!
