Blank screen when first logging in

When logging in for the first time (note: NOT unlocking, but only logging in) to a remote system, the blank screen message is displayed and NOT the desktop items. The start menu is shown, however,


Unblanking and reblanking the remote screen resolves the issue. This happens on Win7 & Win2k8. Does not occur on Win2k12 or Win10.

This issue should be resolved in the forthcoming 6.6 release of ConnectWise Control. Please be advised that you will need to update your clients to version 6.6 before the fix takes effect.

The behavior you describe reproduces in our development environment on a variety of versions of Control going back to at least version 5.6.10957.


We have registered an issue with development, and it's currently under investigation. While I'm unable to provide an ETA for a fix at this time, please refer to the ConnectWise Control Output Stream for the latest development news, including updates regarding bug fixes and product enhancements:

This issue still occurs for us in v19.0.23665.7058 (on both sides) connecting to WIN7 machines.
