Global Consent to Connect Prevents access to iOS and Android

NickW 3 years ago updated by Ben Burner 3 years ago 3

We have enabled the global requirement to force a consent prompt to appear when connecting to Host and Guest Computers.

This prevented us from connecting to Mac Hosts as the "Accept Consent" prompt does not appear on a Mac. The work around for this issue was to adjust the security for to allow connections without consent for each Session Group.

But this issue appears to be occouring for Support Sessions as well for iOS and Android, when you try to connect to the session the message appears "Waiting for consent..." but nothing appears on the users end.

Good morning Nick,

At this time, the AutoConsentAfterSeconds app.config setting has not been implemented for Mac guests. As such, the Mac guest will not auto-consent after the specified time elapses.

Waiting for information

Good morning and thank you for participating on the ConnectWise Control bug forum.

I'd like to break down your original post into two parts: one dealing with the Mac consent prompt, and another dealing with the lack of support for granting consent on our mobile platforms when connecting to a session as a guest.

1) Mac consent prompt

Are you still experiencing this issue? I tested this on our latest build of 6.3 and found that an OS X guest (the machine you're connecting to) will appropriately prompt for consent when a host lacking the HostSessionWithoutConsent permission attempts to connect to the session. We made a change in 6.1 so that this consent prompt appears with focus on the Mac guest machine.

2) Lack of support for granting consent when connecting to sessions as a guest on mobile

I have added your comments to an existing feature request regarding adding support for granting consent on mobile. If you would like, you can also add a new feature request or additional comments to an existing request to our Feature Request portal, here: http://product.screenconnect.com/forums/1-new-features/

Ben

Hi Ben,

Thanks for your prompt reply.

My apologies, I just remembered that the issue with the Mac Clients was the "Auto-consent after X seconds" this is what we had issues with on Mac Clients. The timer expires but the auto-consent is not processed.

Thanks,

Nicholas
