Hyper-V or Server Core access

Eli Peters 8 years ago updated by anonymous 7 years ago 4

Hyper-V 2008R2 and Hyper-V 2012R2, along with Server Core installations apparently don't install MSCOREE.DLL when installing/updating .Net framework. Installation of ScreenConnectClient fails with: SFXCA: Failed to load mscoree.dll in the msiexec log. Requesting to have a workaround for installing on Hyper-V or Server Core hosts.

I have screenconnect installed on at least 2 server cores and 4 different HyperV servers without issue. All are 2012R2.

Had no issues installing at all.

I did compile the installer on another machine that I transferred over since there is no web browser.

OK... I am trying to install on two different 2008 R2 Hyper-V boxes, have done as you did, and get this failure from two separate installations. I have not yet attempted on 2012. The 2012 part was sort of an assumption since it lacks a gui too.

Hey Eli,

You shouldn't have an issue installing. It may be that you're missing something from your .Net. Were you able to get it figured out?
