Ability to disable preview screenshot on session groups.

andrew 5 years ago updated by John Hagan 3 weeks ago 9

We have certain clients in session groups that cannot have screenshots taken of their computers due to compliance requirements. We'd like to be able to accommodate this without having to disable preview screenshots altogether.

Hi Andrew,

Check out this KB article. You can restrict or remove the screenshot preview by security role, or globally remove the screenshot preview.

Hope this helps!

I'm glad that option exists but it doesn't address the specifics of this feature request. OP and others such as myself, want the option to disable preview screenshots by session groups.

I'm requesting that the ability to stop these screenshots from being generated by session group be added to the product. I'd like to still have the preview screenshot for clients where there isn't a compliance need.

Same need here due to many compliance issues.  For most devices, this is not a problem, but for others, we need to be able to disable it.  I am OK with being able to disable it on secure computers rather than disable screenshots for logged in users, although that would be great too.

The ability to remove screenshots by "Session Group" would be extremely helpful for the reasons listed above.  If it's not possible yet via the Admin Portal, is there at least a way to disable screenshot by changing settings locally on the client's machine (i.e. via config file or registry edit)?

Any updates here?

I'm pretty sure you're able to disable screenshots on a per Security Role basis using the ViewSessionGuestScreenshot Permission.

thanks. I actually want to disable screenshots for a group of computers, not just turn off access to those screen shots. I know screenshots can be disabled globally, but it would be great for more granularity.

100% this - we don't want to take away screenshots in general for technicians, however there are certain sessions where we need to disable/hide screenshots.
