Backed End-User Account Management

Blueclone 3 years ago updated 3 years ago 0

The ability to manage local end user accounts on client systems would be a huge help, especially for those MSPs used to having this capability via LogMeIn.  Some of the most common features we use are

- rename username

- rename user's full name

- view date password was last changed

- add/remove users

- change user's group membership

These features are extremely helpful when assisting users undisturbed, and/or identifying previous users on a re-issued computer when unknown to the end-user.

install from network locations

Adam C. 3 years ago 0

The uninstaller leaves registry keys behind when updating or installing from a network locations.

Have the installer look for previous versions and clean them. Or have the installer install from a temp location first...

This works to remove the old reg keys

Keep:

Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Installer\Products\A0D0B54797A5AA449932CE4A757657B8

Delete:

Join a Session Embed HTML code

Richelle 3 years ago updated by Rishikesh Gajul (Product Manager) 3 years ago 1

We would like the section "Join with a Code" to be embedded in our own website so our customer does not need to go to another page (Our ConnectWise instance page) just to be able to join a session. Our customers go to our "Contact Us" page and on that page, we want the "Join With A Code" section to be embedded.

Answer

Hi Richelle,

You can embed Control instance on your site by following the steps given in the below link:

Notes Grayed Out

smecke 3 years ago updated by Rishikesh Gajul (Product Manager) 3 years ago 1

I am trying to add notes to the desktops, but the notes feature is not active? How can I make it active?

Answer

Hi Smecke,

It seems user you are trying to does not have permission to add and remove notes. To allow that you need to go to

Admin > Security > Edit Role (to whom you want to provide this ability) > check "AddNoteToSession"

You also can check "RemoveNoteFromSession" which will allow user to delete the note too. If you leave it unchecked will provide only 'add note' ability to user.

Hope this helps !!

Per User Session Timeouts

scremote 3 years ago 0

Surprised that this has not been worked in by now but there is only a sever-wide option (on premise cwc) to control a session's maximum time before disconnecting. Looking to have this also be available on a per user basis.

The server-wide default is great - and should remain - but to have the granularity to further control session attribute per user would be very useful.

Need a way to enable access to interconnected PCs one their own network. Only the main PC is on the Internet

Basil 3 years ago 0

We have some installations where an acting "Server PC", (Win 10) is connected to the Internet with ConnectWise Control on it, but connected to that "Server PC" are a few "Client PCs" through a network switch without access to the Internet. We need a way to login to those "Client PCs" via the "Server PC" that has ConnectWise Control on it. We tried using RDP but unfortunately that logs you into a different session and not the session that a user is currently logged in.
