Identify Vm (Virtual Machine) on the Session front Info

Peter OTools 9 months ago 0

Hi Team,

Since now there are VMs all around, there is not a front-line easy way to identify right away if the session is a regular pc/server or a virtual machine.
Since Connectwise show 'START' info on the right panel (Name, Company, etc) there would be best spot to add 'Virtual Machine' if the session's device is one.
Yes, we can find it down deep below in 'General' info (Manfuacturer&Model). but it's not handy when you scroll the list of sessions.

I'd vote also to have LAN IP next to it too, but it might be too much to ask, but it's too much common sense' to me.

Thanks!  =)

Screen Connect URL - Attach to existing Ticket

Paul Marsh 9 months ago 0

It would be nice in the URL for the Screen Connect Remote Support page, there was an option to put the Ticket Number in, so that all connection info is automatically attached to the same existing ticket

Unidirectional Transfer Files In Session

kkibby 9 months ago updated by nathan levandowski 9 months ago 1

Is there a granular way to allow unidirectional file transfer so a service desk tech can transfer files to the remote machine but not transfer files back from the remote machine?

We have a large on-prem environment. When technicians click the "Show All" button, it affects the performance of the entire system.

Please build a way to disable it.

Linux additional desktops

Jason Weber 10 months ago 0

Something I'd like to raise (or I've completely missed how to do it) is to have a method where where a headless linux server can spin up multiple, concurrent, individual ConnectWise sessions.

EG: Using (as an example) x2go to connect to said server, x2go-session will spin up a users session on the fly - allowing multiple, concurrent users to gain a remote desktop to the server.
ConnectWise seems to be limited to just connecting to the servers actual desktop.
Because in my instance x2go relies on a messy VPN connection, It'd be really good to have the ConnectWise service available for all our remote connections.

Screen Connect > Let end users create the session

Andrew123 10 months ago updated by Caitlin M Barnes (Product Manager) 10 months ago 1

For businesses that cannot have permanent access to end computers, but have large scale connection requirements, it would be useful to have a generic link that can be sent to the end computer, that when opened will prompt for a name (that becomes the Session Name) and then creates the session.

This allows a support team to potentially email hundreds of end users to setup the connect sessions, without having to manually create a bunch of sessions and email out unique links.

The hardest part of the connection session, is getting end users who may be unfamiliar with the internet, to navigate to the correct domain, and connect to a session. A link emailed to them would speed this process up massively.
